Designer Sam Snyder and I realized something: when we worked together, we felt like we could take over the world. Sure, our boundless enthusiasm was partly responsible. But we knew that it was something bigger, like a force. And we wanted to help other women at VSA feel that feeling. We called it Lady Power.
You’re invited
Every month we assembled a lady gang to go on a Lady Date—to support other women in Chicago and give everyone a chance to talk and connect outside the day-to-day.
We’ve been to She the People, a show created, designed, and performed by the fearlessly funny women of Second City.
We checked out Tonika Lewis Johnson’s “Everyday Englewood” and Gregory Beals’ “They Arrived Last Night” exhibits at LUMA (Loyola Museum of Art).
During Pride Month we toured the Center on Halsted and learned about their mission.

In May we invited the whole office (#inclusive) to our “Mom Card Marketplace,” where we sold special VSA-designed Mother’s Day cards to benefit New Moms, an organization supporting young mothers in the Chicagoland area.
On the socials
For International Women’s Month, we took over VSA’s Instagram to celebrate our own badass women, with a weekly feature of a peer-nominated “Woman of the Week.” And, oh yeah, on International Women’s Day everyone got Lady Power tattoos. #swag
